to the Steering Shaft to make it easy for Lubricate the intermediate shaft to stop the Clunking Noise.

any suggesting

what clunking noise? Is this limited to certain silverado's? is this a common problem?

Even if that zerk fitting didnt stop the noise, it is still pretty convenient. :)

Myself, I wouldn't do it. Have you tried the kit from GM or tried replacing the shaft. Are you sure that is your noise.

Most people who own GM had this problem, even after trying to replace a new shaft or using the Lube kit its come back again.
