Project Widebody almost completerollhard 06-14-2006, 05:10 PM Well, after over a year, this thing is almost done. I cant even tell you how excited I am to finally finish this darn car. http://smoothlinez.com/images/240/CIMG1806.JPG http://smoothlinez.com/images/240/CIMG1807.JPG http://smoothlinez.com/images/240/CIMG1808.JPG http://smoothlinez.com/images/240/CIMG1809.JPG http://smoothlinez.com/images/240/s13wb.gif slideways... 06-14-2006, 05:17 PM ok...well...not bad i guess, at least under the hood. but either lose the skyline tails or get rid of that sticker that says smoothlinez.com(linez? whats wrong with lines?) or best of all, lose both of them. (especially the tail lights. *shudder*). hmmm are those megan racing coilovers or apex'i EXV coilovers... rollhard 06-14-2006, 05:26 PM ok...well...not bad i guess, at least under the hood. but either lose the skyline tails or get rid of that sticker that says smoothlinez.com(linez? whats wrong with lines?) or best of all, lose both of them. (especially the tail lights. *shudder*). hmmm are those megan racing coilovers or apex'i EXV coilovers... Well, too late to take the tail lights. The widebody is not from a kit. Its hand made here (out of metal). Everything bolts on like oem and I would hate to change the body now. The coilovers are Apexi not Megan. Too late to change the linez as to lines because the business has been around for years. slideways... 06-14-2006, 05:40 PM ok well nice job on the widebody, looks alot like an R32 vspec, that part is very clean. and good job not choosing megan coilovers. btw let me know how you like the apex'i EXVs...im debating between those, KTS, and buddy clubs. rollhard 06-14-2006, 05:42 PM ok well nice job on the widebody, looks alot like an R32 vspec, that part is very clean. and good job not choosing megan coilovers. btw let me know how you like the apex'i EXVs...im debating between those, KTS, and buddy clubs. The buddy clubs are nice, but I kinda like the Apexi's better. The only problem with the Apexi ones...well its not actually a problem for me, but might be for some...is that you really have to tune the suspension and its NOT made for low drop. I have heard from many people who buy performance/race suspension kits like this that have blown them in 2-3 weeks because they slammed their cars. MetalHeadZaid 06-14-2006, 10:49 PM sick car man -The Stig- 06-14-2006, 10:58 PM Hmm, the R32 tails are different, Don't see that very often... so for originality points, I give you 10... Over all, I like it... driftking777 06-15-2006, 02:31 AM Very nice dude...best damn R32 tail swap ive ever seen...clean ride, nice wheels, clean motor...i give you a 10 also... keep up the good work.. HoosierDrifter 06-15-2006, 07:52 PM great... now i need clean underwear :smokin: jdmdude15 06-15-2006, 10:38 PM is that a noble in the backround? HoosierDrifter 06-15-2006, 10:41 PM is that a noble in the backround? yea i just noticed that.... noble m12 right? Chuki_breath 06-16-2006, 01:43 PM looks good. Props on the handmade widebody. I like other designs better, but yours still looks good. You chose black which makes me happy. (repainting coupe black also!!). I was thinking of doing r32 tails, since my uncle wants to make this car sort of a "advertisement car" for his business. But i think not now lol, i like the smoked origin-lab tails better. Car looks damn good.......how about more pics of the car. Side shots, wheel shots, front etc. I mean theres too much work done to that car for just 2 pics lol. I wanna see the wide body. oh and yea i noticed the noble right away lol. Theres a red one around here. Those things are bad ass. rollhard 06-16-2006, 09:10 PM The car in the background is a Noble M400. We service as well as make parts for the Nobles here so we always have one here in the shop at any given time. We are building an M400 right now that we will debut at the SEMA show this year. It will most likely be the most powerful Noble in the world. Stay tuned.......As far as more pics of the widebody, Ill have to wash it and take more pics next week. :) bkvj 06-18-2006, 04:01 AM i kinda like the R32 taillights, but i have mixed feelings about it. i mean, it looks really cool but also 'r32 wannabee'. i still like it though, dont take it wrong! Chuki_breath 06-18-2006, 10:55 AM i kinda like the R32 taillights, but i have mixed feelings about it. i mean, it looks really cool but also 'r32 wannabee'. i still like it though, dont take it wrong! yea its not the worst swap in the world. Atleast it still flows with the car design. Iv always thought "silvias" or "silvia clones" looked like miniture r32 skylines. They share alot of the same characteristics i think. AWDSR20 06-18-2006, 02:20 PM u don't have an external wast guage.. is it save to run a big turbo with an internal wast gage? nice dough! rollhard 06-19-2006, 01:54 PM u don't have an external wast guage.. is it save to run a big turbo with an internal wast gage? nice dough! Im assuming that you are talking about the internal wastegate that we are using right now. The HKS IWG is pretty efficient when it comes to controlling and maintaining boost. Of course as with any of my other projects, the car will be tested/tuned on the dyno first. If there is any evidence that the IWG is not up to the task, an external will be put in. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
