GTI line upgtidude 06-12-2006, 03:51 AM Hi everybody At the momentim im building a series which i dont think anybody has ever done before, if someone has, please send me pics. this is the line up mk1 golf (mitsuwa), mk2 golf (fujimi) mk3 golf (fujimi) and a mk4 golf (tamiya). As far as i know there is no MK5 available in a plastic kit so i might go the diecast way. If anybody has any info about plastic 1/24 mk5's please let me know. nuf said here's the pix http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/5609/gpic15it.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/8493/gpic20zf.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/5760/gpic30bc.jpg (http://imageshack.us) thanx for having a look rod_k2 06-12-2006, 05:05 AM Wooooooooooo!! They look mad!! I love golf's! But i think they're nicer in champagne...hehehe Did you searched too much to find the MK3 and the MK4? Damn,I dont find them anywhere.....how much did you paid for them?? Great job! gtidude 06-12-2006, 05:23 AM actually i found that the mk1's was harder to find than the mk3 and mk4's. the mk3 is a fujimi VR6 kit and plentyfull on ebay and i think hobbylink japan has a few for sale, try www.hlj.com for them. i paid $17 for the mk3 and $26 for the mk4. thanx again Lurchio 06-12-2006, 08:30 AM Wow, I'd love to do this build. I have a MkII to build and I've built a MkIV. I know the MkIII's are available but not been able to find a MkI Good luck with this, what sort of styles are you going for? voyageur 06-12-2006, 02:11 PM hi, which are the rims on the MkI? I really like them. nice collection BTW blubaja 06-12-2006, 08:23 PM This is gonna be sweeeeeet man! Good luck on them. gtidude 06-13-2006, 04:54 AM thanx for the kind words guys. The rims on the mk1 is a cheap BBS rs rim which i got off a diecast BMW 850. the look im going for is a subtle german lowder/tuner look outside and full race inside. Im currently busy with the mk4. will be red inside with sparco race accessories. there is alot of aftermarket tuner accessories, but very expensive and most of the race seats are poor quality. What i did, i went and bought a rally peugot 206 and striped all the parts from it. came with very nice race seats, 2 awesome steering wheels, 2 sets of rims, nice brake disks, etc. this is the look im gonna have for my mk4. enjoy. http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7514/img88430es.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/1522/img88734qd.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/3996/img89135ps.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Dave5.0 06-13-2006, 08:18 AM Sweet GTI and golf..... gtidude 06-14-2006, 06:53 AM thanx Dave! gtidude 07-10-2006, 03:34 AM Well ive been busy mostly on the interior of the golf 4. as you can see, it will be full race red etc. here the pics http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/1016/10021288ad.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/2011/10021232bv.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/1521/10021313sl.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/3569/10021295tz.jpg (http://imageshack.us) more progress soon MidMazar 07-10-2006, 09:02 PM Don't know how i missed this thread, seeing how i love vdubs and even own one. Love to see these done. Reflex silver is a good color for them. The black out lights on the mk4 are nice gives them that anniversary look. I'm liking the interior also. One question though did you use clear on the body, because with metallic colors you need clear to make them shine. Keep us posted. quadzero 07-10-2006, 11:29 PM this is one heck of a great project as is the idea of making all of those. the interior work is very nicely done, keep up the good work. syntax error 07-11-2006, 12:44 AM The interior looks really nice and clean. Great job. gtidude 07-11-2006, 08:45 AM thanx guys for the kind words. the interior is far from done, lotsa detail still to come. there is clear on that silver body, MidMazar, its just not polished yet. gtidude 07-13-2006, 03:18 AM thanx everybody for the kind words thus far. heres the update on the wheels for my mk4. tamiya opel calibra btcc BBS type wheels + pegasus aluminium sleeves and seimitsuya centre nuts. http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/7030/1001944xx9sl.jpg (http://imageshack.us) = http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/848/1001954xx4qw.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/3681/1001955xx9nb.jpg (http://imageshack.us) gtidude 07-17-2006, 03:51 AM small update, justa mockup of how the mk4 will look http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/6439/1002134cccha8.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/4308/1002136cccfp5.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/1634/1002137ccclb9.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/8679/1002141ccchj9.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/4002/1002142cccov2.jpg (http://imageshack.us) syntax error 07-17-2006, 05:56 AM Looking very good so far. If this is how it looks when it's still under constructions, I can't wait to see the finished product. MidMazar 07-17-2006, 05:26 PM I like the wheel choice, i think i might pick up a pair for my r32 build, one suggestion would be to smoke the taillights. gtidude 07-18-2006, 02:53 AM thanx for the kind words guys. Yes the tail lights will become smoked, however the centre two bars of the tail light will remain clear. WRC_413X 07-18-2006, 01:58 PM Those wheels look great, keep up the amazing work! Im going to be starting a replica of my 1:1 MKIII GTI with a 16v that i just built :grinyes: Thanks for the incentive! Dub Dub Dub~ gtidude 09-29-2006, 03:55 AM small update on my progress, I've been busy with work so i havent done much. It's amazing how different a wheel can look with a little dish. Looking forward to seeing the entire line up complete. willimo 09-29-2006, 11:28 AM Looking quite good. I like the blacked out headlamps and tails, that's something that's pretty unique to VW tuners and looks really cool. I've been looking everywhere for this kit, where did you find yours? WRC_413X 09-29-2006, 01:45 PM Wow youre doing a great job on these kits, i like it all from the wheels up :grinyes: keep up the progress we know you'll get them done.
