I have a 1998 Sierra 2500 6.5L diesel with automatic transmission and manual 4x4 shifter. I cant shift it out of 4 wheel drive back into 2 wheel drive without it grinding, like trying to put a manual tranny into gear w/o using the clutch.
I have to jam it in to get it out It just doesnt sound good, And Im sure it is'nt. I've tried this at a stop, with the tranny in neautral, park, whatever and still. I've heard of other 4x4's with this problem. Is that a normal problem. None of my other 4x4's did this. Is this a problem that can go unattended or is it somthing that will worsen if I continue using it?
