What's your favorite mod to the look and style of your (or somebody else's) truck? Please reply if your favorite is not listed.

I think de-badging makes the biggest difference. Then I'm a sucker for clearing the front lights, adding 03's out back, or candying/smoking the factory tails, and then shaving the tailgate handle and adding a rollpan to make the rear look smooth.

i like the look of the 03 lights on the 99-02 body.i also think a 2-4 drop just to level out the body with a cowl induction hood really suits those years well.i was never a fan of really overstated visual mods, just enough to clean the truck up a little.a rollpan on the rear looks good too.ive seen a couple of those year trucks around my place with the corvette appearance kit that has the front bumper and corvette hood.looks pretty sweet

Would custom wheels fall under lowering/raising? Also, what's this "roll pan" you guys are talking about?

The roll pan is an add-on body panel that takes the place of the rear bumper. Usually seen on lowered trucks, and a few that aren't.

I'd put custom wheels under the '20"+ wheels' choice. That's kind of what I was going for. I just assumed most people upgrading their wheels also go bigger. Just seems like that's how it is around where I live anyway. :)

IMHO for the '03 up paint the upper valance and chrome the lower valance front bumper, get Escalade handles to match your paint and trim, remove the word badges and add a roll pan....... Then make it go faster than sh$^:naughty:

Nice! That chrome on the front looks way cooler than I thought it would when you mentioned it.

wheels, shaved tailgate and badges. I think drops and lifts constitute visual as well.

Yeah, seems like that's turning out to be the case. Like I said, around where I live, I never see any normal-sized custom wheels to speak of, they all seem to be huge. Some of them are butt-ugly too...

I've seen people selling them on ebay saying they will fit 99-02's with a little modification. What does it entail? Is it the mounting, or just the plugs? I'm still not sure I want to lose the amber back there, just kicking the idea around.

I'm still not sure I want to lose the amber back there, just kicking the idea around.http://server2.uploadit.org/files/kenwoodguy-chevorlet.jpg when they came in it was pretty much a direct replacement the only thing is that you need to file down the tabs on the tailight housing so the bulbs can fit tight inside. there is also another hole for another light down at the bottom, i left that alone although, I would like to hook them up i would need a 03 harness....:icon16: on a side note notice the red frame around my tailights???? one day a friend came by my house with a newer silverado and his frame was black, look to get those i think they look better:iceslolan ..... I wonder if someone could photoshop mine :)

yea its something like that I think the trim makes the tailgate look bigger but i could live with mine the way they are thanx:grinyes:

haha yeah i really should be buyin them.considering mine currently have a little rusty drywall screw stickin out of each one.apparently something happened in the trucks former life and the owner couldnt afford to repair them properly.its very classy looking believe me:headshake

Tell me about it. My truck's p.o. spent probably close to $200 to hide the paint stain on the spray-in liner with a drop-in to make it easier to sell. Line-x dealer quoted me $100 for a topcoat touch-up that would hide the same thing, and look almost like new. (I had a thread about this actually) :)

Elroy, I gotta say man... I don't like the 03-05' trucks but, yours just looks mean just sitting there. Nice choice on the hood and wheels.

Still breaking in the tranny alittle bit before I start back hammering on it. It feels like a totally different truck now with the 3800 stall in it. The shift extension is crazy now(never falls below 5000 rpms between shifts) and its flashing about 5500 out of the hole. I have the 150 shot loaded up right now, but haven't sprayed it yet. I'm going to try it out really soon.

The wheels are 17" Boyd Coddington Timeless 6s. The front tires are nitto nt-450s and on the rear now are M&H racemaster drag radials. They are a good selection for a street truck look.

I need some help with my truck bad. It looks like an old man owns it. Any suggestions on any tire/wheel combo? I need wider tires badly as I like to hang turns and the little pizza slicers on here aint working too well...

Very clean truck. The old man you bought it from took good care of it. I'd go low and wide. I'm sure you have a vision of what the possibilitys are.

I dont really like the two tone and the white pinstripe. Debadge it and take the chrome wheel well things off. Since its a 2wd lower it, add some bigger rims, wider tires and slap on a roll pan. Don't forget the window tint.

Yeah. I'm going to debadge it and de-trim it one weekend soon. As for the tires/wheels, I just dunno how big to go. I don't really want to lower it much b/c I still use it to haul things and go every where i need to go in it. window tint is a must, its coming very soon.

I definately want to go wide, dunno how low.

I'm fond of my cowl hood. However, the trucks really look better debadged and molding removed. Paint matched door handles. The little things is what really set these trucks apart, IMO.
