04' Temperature Gauge Probs?nvgunrunner22 06-07-2006, 03:24 AM I have a 2004 Silverado w/4.8L V8, after having tow package and brake controller installed, the temp guage has gone on the fritz. I dont know if it has something to do with the brake controller, or is just coincidence. I can start the vehicle after sitting all night, and the temp will start at zero, or jump to 160, or anywhere in btwn. Has anyone had this problem? Is it common? And can i install an aftermarket temp gauge easily at not too much expense? Thanks to all who can help. jethro_3 06-07-2006, 10:38 AM It would be easier to use an Aeroforce Scan Gauge that you can add to your truck that will scan 26 items like trans temp, eng temp, rpm..... O2 bank 1.... It will also show DTC's and clear them if needed. Also you can log data to trouble shoot your issues if needed. It plugs intop the OBD2 port under the dash and the only other thing you need is a hot on wire. The gauge will give you the same data that the computer is using. PM me if you have questions. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
