88 yj which bar is the sway bar, i want to remove the other

i want to remove the front and back ?????? bar but not the sway bar does the sway bar look like a u-shape? thanks

yes, the sway bar is shaped like a "U", well, more like " [___] ", but you get the idea. the only other bar that you could remove is the track bar, it's the one that goes from the frame to the axle, and there are two of them, one on the front and one on the rear. however, if you are planning on driving the jeep on the street, you may want to consider leaving the front one in place.

the track bars keep the axles from shifting side to side. in the rear, you probably won't notice that it's gone, because of the shackles being on the rear of the springs. however, in the front, with the shackles at the front of the springs, you'll probably notice some wandering in the steering with the track bar removed.

there are track bars that you can get that "telescope". the slide is unlocked for off road driving to give better flex, and then locked back for street driving to prevent steering wander.
