How do you have your CB radio hooked up?cody_e 06-06-2006, 10:40 PM I have mine so I can just plug it into the cigarette lighter. I rigged it with a soldiering gun, some electrical tape, and an accessory plug. 2.2 Straight six 06-06-2006, 10:43 PM my friend's is fed off the fuse box as an ancillary or something, it's a permanet one with the unit fixed in the dash. cody_e 06-06-2006, 11:29 PM What I like about mine is I can unhook the antenna and take it out at will. cobradude360 06-07-2006, 07:15 PM i have mine hard wired in to a acc wire which shuts off with the car also i just ran my attenna at the same time i wired my amp so its permanent midgetracing28 01-02-2007, 09:40 PM I have a cobra classic wired up direct from the battery with the antenas mounted on the mirrors. The only bad part now I cant put my truck in the garage to work on it unless I take the antenas off first. It looks good though twin antennas cab lights and a custom 2 inch tube push bumper on my f250 kinda looks like a minisemi. Now if i could make it a dually and replace all the ford emblems with peterbuilt ones lol. KManiac 01-22-2007, 10:46 PM I am an old CB'er from the 1970's, pre and post "Convoy". A couple years ago, I found a used, 40-channel mobile radio at a rummage sale for $10. I wired up a 12-volt cigarette lighter plug, attached my old magnet mount antenna and away I went. I can move this rig from car to car, since I have so many (cars, that is). In my youth, 30 years ago, the original 23 channels were so crowded with people that the FCC approved expansion to 40 channels. Today, I cannot raise a single person on any channel, even channel 9, the so-called emergency channel. With the advent of cellular telephones, only the truckers use these things anymore. But I am glad to have it, especially when my cell phone says "No Service". motormayhem 08-06-2009, 12:25 AM vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
