99 taurus spewing brown liquidcmangus81 06-04-2006, 11:06 PM I parked my car tonight and saw smoke:frown:. When I popped the hood there was liquid spewing and smoke(probably from touching hot engine). The liquid was brown and I think it might be antifreeze. There was some liquid around the coolant resivoir, but it was spewing from a connection behind the engine in the center. It is a three way connection with two of the connection having metal connectors and one looked like a rubber tube. If this makes sense to anyone please help. Im trying to figure out if its a hose leak or if it has anything to do with the water pump. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks KimMG 06-05-2006, 01:56 AM Whatever is leaking is broken. Pressure test the cooling system to identify exactly what is leaking, then replace that part. Flush the cooling system and fill with a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze. cmangus81 06-05-2006, 10:08 AM Thanks a bunch for the help. cmangus81 06-06-2006, 12:03 AM Got the problem fixed. It was a simple T connector that cooling system to heater core. I got a new part put in and the system flushed. The tow cost more than the fix:frown:, but it could always be worse.
