Hello I currently tow my 17' boat/trailor/motor with a 2000 kia sportage. The kia sucks at towing it in my opinion. My boat is small and light, I tow it on the freeway, I would like something that can tow it at up to 70mph, where the kia can not tow it at past 50mph.

The Kia is a 4cyl 2.0l, the 4 runner is a 4cyl 2.4l. I am not looking for a ton of power, just a cheap beater truck to tow my boat and go fishing. Will the 4runner be able to do it better then the KIA?

Any info would help, I never owned a 4 runner.
