i am going to re set the time on my truck and i wanted to make sure if i should set the mark to 0 degrees or should i advance the time any . i have always set the time by ear but on these 94 models it says on the sticker to set it to 0 degrees . i was told that you can advance the time to 2 degrees and it would help because of the high miles . i would appericate any thought , i can advance the time to 6 or 8 degrees and teh truck seems to idle better . i was just wondering if the mark could be off . thanks silver100

On your truck there is a wire, (brown and white I believe) next to your fuse box on the firewall under the hood. Disconect that wire, then set the timing to 0. Kill the truck, reconnect the wire, and the computer will automatically advance the timing for you.

The wire to disconnect is black with a tan stripe.
