not too good with alarms. but i would suggest pulling the fuse for the alarm itself so it will stop going bonkers. Hmmm...was the alarm going crazy before you had your ignition replaced? this is a bit tricky...

is their any other things on that particular fuse that you want me to pull i was told if i pull that fuse that other things that work off that fuse wont work and the ignition and trunk latch were worked on before i owned the vehicle i was told by my mechanic that underneath yhe right passenger kick panel there is a alarm module i could try to unplug i know on older towne cars there was actually two fuses behind the dash you had to disconnect because of this same problem with the stock alarm system

thats where mine is on my town car. if you take out the glove box you can see it. its a little black box with 2 plugs (i think). i never unhooked mine b4. however, i will try to unhook it and see what it does. i kno the year of my town car is when ford made many changed to it. also, i know on my town car the alarm is hooked into a fuel cut-off. i am not sure if that would automatically activate if the alarm is disabled by unplugging it (say if a thief was tryin to deactivate the alarm). i guess here we have to poke around and see what we can do. if there is any way to disable it, then just leave it alone. because what it sounds like is the module for the alarm is going bad. usually what happens is soder joints within the module itself break and mess up the entire system. hopefully more people will read this and hopefully have a better solution. i am not the best with alarms but first i would try to disable it by unplugging the relay/fuse. then, once you do that, see if any other system is disabled also. if not, then your home free. try starting out simple first and may be you will get lucky :grinyes: let me know what happens

Hi Scotty,
Have you tried cleaning the switch contacts on the Hood Switch? I know of one more person with the exact same problem, the Hood Switch WAS defective.
He tried cleaning the contacts, couldn't get it working. Then he replaced the switch and hasn't had a problem since.
