I have a 91 labaron convertable. 68,000 miles. I took it out and it now wont go in second gear. It bangs real loud and it feels like I slammed on the brakes real hard. The car wont go forward past first gear. I can put it in first gear and It wont do it so I know its the transmission. Does this mean a new trans or is there a control unit that my be causing the problem. Thanks for any input

I'd say you're lookin at a new tranny. Most A604's crap out at around 60k miles.
