Two different base kits, aoshima(panspeed) and tamiya(rx7-r1). comparing these kits sidebyside, tamiya is better. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/P1010281.jpg cut-out front bumper(Tamiya) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/P1010283.jpg fit wider wheel (from 911 gt2) and side skirt (extra part from aoshima) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/P1010284.jpg going to putty the rear over fender http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/P1010285.jpg going to update soon, working on front bumper and side skirt (tamiya), Thanks Hiroboy 05-25-2006, 06:00 AM Great Start :) s15rb26 05-25-2006, 09:04 AM Lookin good.I love FDs so make em, look good nugundam93 05-26-2006, 12:52 PM this is gonna be good! :D WRC_413X 05-26-2006, 07:17 PM Off to a good start. KevHw 08-23-2006, 04:17 AM Very nice result for the AOSHIMA kit. I love FD's too and you've so far made one very well. For the TAMIYA though, I think coz your rear arch is a lot bigger, you should do something to the front arches too. Just my opinion. Nice so far though and can't wait to see them both side by side. Also interested in your plans for the silvia *drool* energon 08-23-2006, 01:48 PM The FDs are looking really good. You've done some excelent work. I too am interested in that S-15. What wheels are on it? I don't recognise them. kalam2b 08-23-2006, 11:21 PM thanks 4 the comments. Wheels on s15 are Work Meister S2R. it's gonna be OOB s15 (may be at this moment, ummp), just replace the roller, wheel stance and hood vent. try to finish the FD first. energon 08-24-2006, 04:30 AM Are those the 18 inch Fujimi Work Meisters? They look bigger and deeper. Maybe it's just the pics, or the fact that they're white instead of chrome. I have a set. kalam2b 11-30-2006, 11:42 PM what a @#$#@ damn slow progress! Sorry for harsh word! update : done with new head light http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/P1000220-640.jpg done with air cleaner and turbo http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/P1000225-640.jpg Anyone have 3 rotor picture reference? plan to built 3 rotor wenkel thanks REXtreme7 12-01-2006, 08:01 AM Good work' I had those porsche rims on my Tamiya kit and I know why the rear is so wide... ;) I like the GTR bumper integration... nice. Cwest Asamoto kit looks good.. You didnt go for the Orange though? Russ. 3 rotor reference... www.3rotor.com WRC_413X 12-01-2006, 06:15 PM The progress looks great, im really loving that front end!! keep the updates comin please. :D kalam2b 12-12-2006, 03:42 AM guys, help needed.... i can't find detail enough ref picture of 13b rew, as at know stuck on where should i attach the lower radiator hose on the engine. im trying to redetailing the engine (just up to my rookie level capability). TQ REXtreme7 12-12-2006, 06:56 PM G-man422 12-12-2006, 07:43 PM Nice FD's. I cant wait for them to be finished. keep up the good work. Jurva 12-13-2006, 07:52 AM Actually i have done Word document that includes drawings for rotary engine parts. You can build 2 or 3 rotor engine out of them. kalam2b 12-26-2006, 02:11 AM small updates. done with the diffuser custom twin muffler. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/26122006435.jpg done with the radiator and fan http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/26122006437.jpg ..............but still stuck with the engine! I've never seen rx7-r1 engine with my own eye, just wondering is it using 13b rew or something else 'cause comparing between 2 picture below there's a lot different. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/26122006432.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/0205tur_codered04_zoom_small.jpg thanks. * sorry 4 blurr pic, phone camera kalam2b 12-26-2006, 02:18 AM opppsss sorry, one more thing, which side of the brake servo should be located, right of left? is it depend on drive orientation(left-hand drive/ right-hand drive)? thanks, happy new year! Jurva 12-26-2006, 07:57 AM Tamiya is using 13b-rew. Its easy to tell because rew engine doesn't have distributor. Spirit R 12-28-2006, 05:06 AM damn, those are some niceass wheels! hypertek 12-28-2006, 10:12 PM looking good!! dam spirit R, is that your FC?? looks nice. Wanna trade cars? heheh Midtenn 12-31-2006, 02:47 PM The REW shown in the picture has the air pump (smog pump) removed from the motor. From talking with a friend of mine who owns and rebuilds FD's, the only engine difference in the R1 and other models is twin oil coolers. kalam2b 01-05-2007, 04:10 AM just spray 1st layer of clear. going to paint the turn indicator then re-spray the clear .2 more layer. attched the diffuser, paint panel line. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/P1000397-640.jpg hv anyone done this kit? just wondering where is the front clip. (can't clip the body to the chasis) happy new year! KTem 01-05-2007, 10:50 AM Is that the Tamiya R1? Didn't you say you chopped the front lip off? :icon16: If so, that's where the body goes at the front. Without a front lip, there's not much to connect the body to... Nice job so far, tho! I like your engine work. rsxse240 01-05-2007, 11:27 AM just glue it to the rocker panels. this will prevent you from being tempted to take the body off and breaking crap! Spirit R 01-06-2007, 02:10 AM dam spirit R, is that your FC?? looks nice. Wanna trade cars? heheh haha, thanks, i'll trade for an FD :grinyes: thats a badass diffuser! kalam2b 06-27-2007, 10:40 PM Continue working on this kit( being left dusty on the shelf 4 a while). this where i left it: Almost done the engine ,just a few tweak its done.( intercooler hose, air separator tank, oil catch tank, batt and some more wiring) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/P1010214_640.jpg Rear view with diffuser attached. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/P1010221_640.jpg Custom/scratchbuilt radiator, fan and turbo. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/kalam2b/twin%20fd3s/P1010232_640.jpg C&Cs are welcome Vyacheslav 06-28-2007, 04:23 AM stunning work and a stunning looking car!!! KevHw 06-28-2007, 09:17 AM Been waiting for updates on this thread! Looking fantastic. Rear seems a little too small though imo with such wide arches. Hurry up and finish this thing :runaround: lancer07 06-28-2007, 11:41 AM excellent work. the car looks mean:smokin: messe 06-28-2007, 12:40 PM that thing looks hardcore! zak78 06-28-2007, 02:48 PM Favorite FD so far!
