HELP!! 1978 300D (Ant. Switch)

Above my radio, between the interior light switch and the sun roof switch is a switch labeled Ant. It is a three position switch with MAX on top and Off on the bottom. What the heck is this switch for? HELP :banghead:

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the antenna.
