Not a GP question but....... Admins step introy1 05-23-2006, 10:55 PM why 90% of the time when I try to reply to a thread it just sits there? BNaylor 05-23-2006, 11:07 PM I had no problem responding to your post. Has it been that way for awhile or just started? What are you running DSL, cable or dial up? Are you using a PC or Apple? What operating system? troy1 05-23-2006, 11:15 PM It been like this off and on for me for awhile. Cable, PC XP Srv. Pack 2 all up to date. I'll just see how long this takes. I tried at noon never got anything posted. Edit. Sh#t that was quick :) it worked for once. BNaylor 05-24-2006, 01:12 AM It been like this off and on for me for awhile. Cable, PC XP Srv. I've noticed AF still has some minors issues and it depends on traffic. Sometimes doing basic PC maintenance helps out. Run a defrag on the hard drive. Make sure no adware/spyware is running in the background or using memory. Also, in the Internet Explorer browser under Tools/Internet Options clear out old history files and delete the old temporary internet files to include all off line content to clear out the cache. Every little bit helps. richtazz 05-24-2006, 06:56 PM If it was recently Troy, we all had issues. I stayed off for a while a few weeks back because it took forever to get anything to post. Everything has been peachy for me lately though, so hopefully for you as well. AF rules, and they ain't kiddin' when they say "may cause dependency", troy1 05-24-2006, 07:01 PM Yea I got a twitchy and started throwing sh$t. LOL J/K richtazz 05-24-2006, 07:03 PM My co-workers hated me for a while there!!! troy1 05-24-2006, 07:13 PM The longer my reply it takes forever to post damit. BNaylor 05-24-2006, 07:21 PM The longer my reply it takes forever to post damit. Just think how it would be running dial up 56K. BTW - DSL is still the best. troy1 05-24-2006, 07:23 PM I've got 3mb download and 512K upload. shouldnt be slow..... I can bang around the site a light speed but when it comes time to post/reply might as well be 56k.. BNaylor 05-24-2006, 07:38 PM I've got 3mb download and 512K upload. shouldnt be slow..... With business class 512K upload it should not be an issue. The AF end looks good. We haven't had any complaints since the last episode that I know of. maxwedge 05-24-2006, 07:44 PM Do you know anyone else in your area with the same ISP? Bob, posting and replying is very slow, dial up here, but other sites are much faster, even navigating while I am waiting for AF to finish uploading a post or open a forum. troy1 05-24-2006, 08:54 PM No I dont know any one who uses the same service. But it is slow. Are you a adim/mod Bob? BNaylor 05-24-2006, 08:59 PM No I dont know any one who uses the same service. But it is slow. Are you a adim/mod Bob? When I'm in the Grand Prix forum I'm just a regular like anyone else but I am a Moderator. If you'd like like I can address the issue to AF Admin. Let me know. troy1 05-24-2006, 09:05 PM Sure go to it. It seems for me that the longer the post/reply it just sits for long trying to post it.
