Hey Guys Its My 00 Yukon Since Theres A Lot Of Good People On Here Im Gonna Ask Here As Well As Tahoe Forum. My Yukons Lower Ball Joint Has Been Squeaking For A While. My Wife Said Today Some Loud Popping Sound Came From It And Now Theres A Lot Of Play In It. I Know Its Time To Change But I Have No Idea Where To Start How To Get It Off. It Is The Passenger Side Lower Joint . It Looks To Me When You Take Off Nut When You Push Up To Remove It Will Hit The 4 Wheel Drive Cv Joint. Whats The Answer And Is There Any Special Tools Needed..... Thanks A Lot Dave

All I know is that before you take anything off you have to jack the truck in the air and then put a jackstand on the bottom of the control arm then take the pressure off from the jack slowley, when you do this all of the pressure on the control arm is on the jackstand, then you can do your thing. Make sure that the pressure of the truck is resting on that jackstand. When you have done that you can take a metal rod or a board, put it under the tire, when you try to move the tire up and down, if the ball joint is bad the wheel will have up and down movement in it, if it does not move the ball joint is good.
