my get up and go has leftkhakushia 05-21-2006, 05:29 PM I Have A 2000 chevy s10 extended cad 4.3 v6 it has little under 75000 orginal miles and for some reason it has lost all acel. and power. i do regular oil changes and everything. When i hit the gas from a stopped possition it acts if it was to die and i even hear poping sounds coming from my exhaust. i changed the fuel filter and put in fuel injector cleaner in it and still the same problems please help.... it has no probem going at high speeds no rough idol just when i try to burn some tires or just take off period it take a few minutes to get going till it really gets going busa4 05-21-2006, 05:43 PM there are too many possibilities for this problem. i would have to watch sensor data with a scan tool to figure this one out. khakushia 05-21-2006, 08:37 PM so i should take to an auto store for them to hook it up to a computer? busa4 05-21-2006, 10:01 PM do u know anyone with a scantool that can obtain sensor data? popping from exhaust tells me there is a lean condition. check all your vacuum hoses. check your fuel pressure. khakushia 05-21-2006, 10:05 PM umm no no one with a scan tool also have no idea how to check the fuel pressure is there a tool i can rent or buy? busa4 05-21-2006, 10:10 PM any auto parts store should sell a fuel pressure gauge. on the fuel rail you should see a shrader valve. looks like a tire valve with a plastic cap on it. you screw the pressure gauge onto that valve and start your engine. tape the gauge to your windshield and drive the truck until this problem happens and note your fuel pressure when it happens. RahX 05-22-2006, 02:43 AM The valve is on the rear/driver's side of the intake, kind of a pain to get to. You might have the nutkit/fuelpressure regulator leak that is fairly common for those engines. Pop off the brake booster vacuum line and sniff. Is there a strong gas smell? corning_d3 05-22-2006, 03:05 AM I've solved a lot of 4.3 problems your describing by giving the mass airflow sensor a good cleaning with alcohol and a Q-tip after dis-assembly. They get a lot of crud build-up on the sensor wires and gives false readings. khakushia 05-22-2006, 01:48 PM yes i do smell gas providing i took off the right hose but yeah i do smell gas is that good or bad khakushia 05-22-2006, 02:27 PM That Did It Thank You So Much... I Just Got Done Burning So Much Rubber I Think I Am Going To Get Some New Tires...oh Thank You So Much. Cleaning The Air Sensor Did The Trick. Oh Hellz Yeah... Thank You So Much dmbrisket 51 05-22-2006, 05:18 PM just be careful with that thing, its fragilie and very expencive, and anything from 96 on has a scfi not a cpi, cpi's are the ones that have nut kit problem, and 95 is the worst year corning_d3 05-22-2006, 08:09 PM I fugured that'd do it. With the money you'll be saving on fuel, you can buy tires!! Like dmbrisket said, they break EASY and i think they're around $300 new dmbrisket 51 05-23-2006, 01:19 AM 300 is not new, its rebuilt, rebuilt is usually a little less then half of brand new, if new is even available (kinda like starters, they are all reman;s, unless you drop 8 bills at the dealers parts counter) corning_d3 05-24-2006, 02:22 AM You know what I meant! :-) No one buys parts from the stealership, unless you own a chrysler product... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
