i want to buy a 240 and i like the way the 97 front looks and the 180 tail lights. what is the best way to get what i want? buy a 97 then redo the rear end or buy a 93 and convert the front end and slap some some 180 lights on the back? (dont like the tail lights on the 97 they gotta go) thanks

ehh your gonna get flamed for wanting to do this and you could have easily found out for yourself but anyways...

get the s13 hatch and throw on some type x tails
get the bumper, fenders, hood, lights, ect off of a us or jdm s14.

Yessir! thats the way to do it. First off the s-13 is lighter, less equiped, easier to work on (i think), looks nicer, the 180sx lights dont go on the s-14. But watch out..cause im not 100% sure that the 97' front will bolt on the s-13?ANYONE KNOW???? it must thought if s-15 bolts on both...so ya.
Plus you'll save $$$ buying an s-13 then you'll have that extra $$$ to put into it......if you do it, i wanna see some pics!! Good luck

uhhhhh....the s15 has special conversion fenders........to fit on s13 and s14.

it wont just bolt up. A 97-98 front will bolt up to a 95-96 no problem. But s13 you need to find a conversion. Or make it yourself.

tyrone have a look on www.zilvia.net (http://www.zilvia.net) for some dude with an s15 conversion on his hatch, he has a guide that tells you how to do it all and im pretty sure hes not using conversion fenders (assuming that you use basically the same methods on s14 fenders)
EDIT: nevermind, he used conversion fenders, but heres the link anyway http://www.360realms.com/S13-S15/

no its fine if they think its gay but please let me know why its gay am i gonna make a mistake by doing it or do you just not like it. i want to hear both side just back what your saying with some kind of reason. or is it like this: motor swap = ok , tail lights = ok , headlights = not ok just let me know thats why im asking thanks

motorswap = ok only if you have a reason for it
headlight swap = waste of money, + it looks horrible
taillight swap = waste of money, but it looks nice on a s13 hatch if you have all that extra money.

its all the same definition of rice. if you do something without having a purpose, then its rice. i.e. SR swap because everyone else says its better.
if you have a car that meets your needs and want to make it look better, then go ahead and do what you want, but everyone will always have their opinion about it.

but my previous post still stands.

i like to stay chassis specific. s15 on s15. s13 has flip ups or silvia. s14 has s14 options. I wouldnt call it rice though.... i mean if you have a huge ugly ass black widow kit or something along those lines then yes. But if its a stock ass conversion then who cares. If its done clean it will show. Iv seen one s14 with s15 conversion with full origin lab body kit and have to admit it flowed real nice. Was pearl white.

you have to use conversion fenders or make your own......

I did my conversion because my front end was smashed up....and i found my nose cut for $700 cnd$$..with a nice a/m bumper and skirts, silvia rad & lots more.....i couldn't pass it up....i always loved the old silvia front end.If you think i'm a ricer for doing so then so be it.....but my sil-40 has ballz for $6700 cnd$$ including buying the car and front end, so you cant say $hit! That $700 would have been spent easily on getting the old front like new.

i think he ment rice as in the fact of swapping up chasis models. I bought mine cuz im repainting the whole car.......and i like coupe to look like silvia. Dont get me wrong if turbo240 had there shit out already....i would of done that first. But i do body work, so that shit is no big deal for me to do. I should get most the shit primed this weekend since i got a 4 day weekend. im off on fridays, then we get monday off. So i plan on getting everything primed (quarter panel, rear bumper, front bumper, hood, grill) then i have to knock out dings and dents on fenders......so those probably wont get done lol.

or you can get an S14 and go with an S12 front end.

put and S14 front end on an S13

http://www.tunerzine.com/articles/163/images/1.jpg

and I know somewhere there is an even better pic of an S13 with an S14 front end, its 2tone light green and dark green.

that doesnt look to bad actually. It just looks like a remodel of the silvia. Since the headlights and grille area are basically the same style on both silvia chassis. But i still like the s13 silvia front better.

that s12 is different ill give him that. But god damn thats ugly lol.

anybody have pics of s13 flip ups on a s14?

s13 flip ups look pretty badass on an s15, but i think the best combo is a hatch with stock s14 parts

I know I saw an s14 on ebay that had flip-ups.

but heres those pics of the BEST LOOKING 240/silvia, I've ever seen....except for the wheels.

but I'm just a sucker for the 2tone green paintjob

for the front fenders you can get the stock 97 fenders then cut of the rear side of the fender meaning basically the a pillar then cut the same section out of the s13 fender and weld the meeting point of the pillar and the fender onto your 97 fenders. it should work ive seen it work on a s14 using jdm s15 fender
