I'm in the process of finishing the pure hell dodge demon funny car from the 70's. The finish calls for a medium purple metalizer finish. Do I start with a metalizer undercoat with a medium purple finish? Is there a special type of paint that is applied over a metalized undercoat? If this is the case do I still need a first primmer coat as usual or am I completely wrong on all counts? Please help? I'm cornfused? Thanks Rick

Metallizer or mettalic?
If it's the first, I'm confused. Never heard of pruple metallizers (almost a contradiction in terms ;) ). Unless it's some kind of prismatic paint (see Alclad www)
If it's a purple metallic you need. Choose your colour, prime your part as usual, paint it then DON"T sand it, apply clear coat THEN sand, poish and wax.

Metalizer is a line of paint for metalic paint only. It's not what you want.
Look in the "Boyd" Testor (or Model Master) line (something that sound like Boyld or Bold, don't remember)
It's a special "pearl / metalic" line.
