How to relieve overcharged A/CKDuong 05-18-2006, 09:33 PM Hi, I accidentally overcharged my 2000 Rodeo A/C (pressure gage shows over 45 psi). I tried to press on the low pressure valve to release some of the 134a refrigerant but I think mostly oil shoot out so I stop. How can I properly dirscharge some of the refrigerant to lower the pressure or some oil come out is normal on the low pressure side? Thanks in advance. Gizmo42 05-19-2006, 01:07 AM 45 PSI at idle might be ok depending on the outside air temp. 65* 25-35 PSI 70* 35-40 PSI 75* 35-45 PSI 80* 40-50 PSI 85* 45-55 PSI 90* 45-55 PSI 95* 50-55 PSI 100* 50-55 PSI 105* 50-55 PSI 110* 50-55 PSI It is normal to get some oil when you press in the schrader vavle on either high or low side (more so on high side). The oil travels with the refrigerant and lubes the compressor bearings that way. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
