Should I sell my Z??? HELP!!!!

Hey guys. I have a nice Twin Turbo 300ZX that runs awsome, but I can't decide weather I should sell it or not to buy a kouki S14 and turbo it (or SR20 it). I want to get back into drifting kinda because I got rid of my S14 Zenki a while ago, but I don't want to make the decision and regret selling the Z. The Z is an amazing car, but the way I see it right now, with the S14, I would be able to do everything from road race, drag race, drift, and autocross. With the Z, I can really only get away with road racing and drag racing. I miss drifting, and I tried to slide the Z around, but man, its just too heavy and it doesn't wanna stay sideways for long before it corrects itself. But I don't want to get rid of a perfectly good Supercar and wish I hadn't because I got a really good deal on it and will be screwed if I decide that I shouldn't have sold it. Anyways, if I could get some of your honest opinions guys on what I should do and what you would do, I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot for the help.

what do u want 4m the car?

Drift? u can drift with a ford tempo man....

if your Z is in good running condition, why swap to an ILLEGAl motor (sr20det), slower (KA n/a, Sr20det vs Vq30dett), and weaker chassie S14? the Z32 chassie is great .

i'm spending OVER 1G on parrts and welding to make my car track worthy (RPS13)... man do 240 have a weak chassie!. keep in mined that i'm staying with my S13 bcs i allready dumped so much $$$ into it....

anyways... do ur homework...

get a 2way and coils for the Z, i bet you would be able to keep it sideways nicely..

z's have hicas dont they?? Might want to eliminate that.

to be honest man its really up to you. We cant really say what to do on that decision. What you want more is what you should do.

oh yea, i forgot. Dont all the TT Z's have hicas? Maybe that is interefing with why it corrects/doesnt get sideways well.

Thats true. All TT Z's have HICAS and that is probably much of the problem why I can't keep it sideways. I know a guy that has a real S14 Silvia with an S15 engine in it for sale. I wouldn't mind selling my Z for that but I dont know if I can get $12 G's for my Z or not, so until I do, I think I am going to look at a HICAS Eliminator kit and some suspension mods because all in all, I do think a Z32 getting sideways at a drift event would be a pretty rare and cool sight.

take out some weight too. I dont how you feel about gutted cars but that would help a little bit.

I've always wanted a 300z but I always find non turbo models. I'd keep it.

You CAN drift a Z. I can think of one that one the Option Drift challenge in Japan a couple of years ago. If you want to drift a Z though its best you get rid of the HICAS system. Stillen sells a good kit for that. I also would suggest getting a ECU and a few minor upgrades to the engine just to move your powerband to better suit the demands of drifting. Lastly the rest of the money you spend on the car should go to suspension and brakes. The Z32 chasis is a bit soft because of the T-Tops but not as bad as the RPS13 or S13 chasis. And the trick to drifting a Z is small adjustments. It doesnt take much to get a Z sideways and it doesnt take much to keep it there, just dont over correct otherwise it will get downright nasty quick.

I personally wouldnt get rid of the Z, its a good car, and by far better car than the 240SX ever was. Remember the Z car was a purebread sportscar, the 240SX was a sports coupe. Lastly find me a 240SX with stock gears that can do over 170MPH. After all with a TTZ thats only a ECU away.
