I have a 99 Sportage Convertiable.
When I run just the fan (more noticible when on Cold side, but not the A/C) I get a smell that is about the same as when my wife colors her hair. It is that putrid nose hair burning smell.

I ran all winter and never had it, now that it is getting warmer outside, it has started up. It did this last summer and I never gave it any thought as it went away during the winter.

I did a search, but only came up with gas smell which i do not have (luckily).

I do have the occosional check engine after filling up with gas, rough idle, and a seat belt light flashing sequence, but this actually worries me.
