I have a volvo s-40 that has a metal pipe comming from what apears to be the a/c compressor. In front of the transmission there is a hose that has metal connectors on either side. This hose has a blister near the first connection and is leaking radiatort coolant at the first fitting. What is this hose? What does it do? What is the part number for a new one?

I think that might be the heating core pipe. I just had mine replaced because it was cracked. Is the front window of your car fogging up out of nowhere? Mine was doing that, and after I took it to the shop they told me it was because antifreeze was leaking out of the heating core pipe into the ventilation system. You wanna be real careful if that's the case because my car started to overheat because of it and I had to get it towed to the shop, not to mention it's not exactly healthy to be inhaling antifreeze.
