I recently bought a 99 grand am SE. It has the little 2.4 liter and I bought it for the gas mileage, but I was wondering if it is possible to give my car some get up and go. Do those cheap performance chips do anything for your car? Should I put cold air intake on it? I just need some ideas. Please give me some input..

A CAI would be probly the cheapest upgrade, then maybe an exhaust up grade. Stay away from resisters that are supposed to giv you HP.

Cheak this thread for parts and stuff.

What do the resistors that tell your car that the air is colder actually do that harms your car? Would a throttle body bypass kit do any thing, or is that just another hoax? I'm just an 19 year old, tryin to pay for college too...so i dont have alot of money. What kind of muffler should i put on the car?

Hey, Do they make performance plugwires for a 2.4 Liter engine. Cuz i noticed a difference in my camaro that plugwires added some punch.

here try this place, its like my favorite site for grand am performance upgrades, if your kinda low on money go to andys auto sport i know they got like a full catback for like 400 and pick yourself up some headers, anyway heres the link for those spark plug wires

http://www.doctorspeed.com/grand_am/grand-am-ignition.html

go there for your wires
