Phil hurstg01 06-08-2006, 05:00 AM Hello !!! I have a good news :) There is a "Gulf Revival" just before the supercars and pilots parade and guess what ? :) McLaren F1 GTR is announced ! perhaps the Cesar, what do you think about it ? Phil YEEHAA! cant wait to see the pics, IMO the Gulf Colours of the old Porsches were the best livery, so to see the GTR alongside these would be a great photo! Cheers Greg mini magic 06-08-2006, 12:45 PM Awesome. Shame i can't be there :( cabrio92 06-08-2006, 04:00 PM Hello, I'll do my best :) I sent an email to the organisation of the parade to enter the "parc fermé" Peleton can help us to know which F1 "Gulf" it will be ? For the Cesar, I am wrong in fact. Phil Peloton25 06-08-2006, 04:43 PM There has been a longtail Gulf GTR that hangs out at the new McLaren factory from time to time - I would suspect it is that car, but the chassis number is still unknown as far as I can remember. >8^) ER PatrickT82 06-10-2006, 04:21 PM does anyone have more info or website? Will that Mac also be viewable on the saturday and sunday? Will there again be a supercar parade like last year?? Last year, some cars stayed shown in the track. For the McLaren it was different, it was seen at Le Mans and in Paris. I can't help you anymore. (its a 7 hour drive for me!!!) Le Man 06-15-2006, 11:26 AM Shame I am not going to France this year, the Gulf display sounds good. I have reliable information, that there will be a McLaren F1 at the Goodwood festival of speed . This will be confirmed closer to the event. mini magic 06-15-2006, 11:55 AM I would think there would be quite a few at Goodwood. Last year there was 010R, 027R, 018R and i think 1 or 2 were spotted in the car park PatrickT82 06-15-2006, 05:20 PM I would think there would be quite a few at Goodwood. Last year there was 010R, 027R, 018R and i think 1 or 2 were spotted in the car park At every event I check all carparks and there was no mac last year at Goodwood! Must be the year before:licka: PatrickT82 06-16-2006, 06:42 PM no pics yet???:frown: cabrio92 06-18-2006, 07:34 AM Hello, it was exceptionnal at Le Mans this year but I don't see any F1 :( I stayed during all the parade (very long) and I don't understand because the 917K was not there too ! There are Ford GT40 & GT Gulf but no specific parade announced ! I hope to know more on that. Phil Arjan 06-19-2006, 08:44 AM I've been there and been in the drivers parade paddock too, but haven't seen the GTR. Asked several people from the organisation and security where the GTR is; nobody knows. I also asked someone in track paddock, but he didn't know anything of the rumour there would be driving a GTR. There were a lot of other interesting car like: a blue Ferrari FXX, Maserati MC12, Peugeot proto 907, Ford GT Gulf, 2x Ford GT40 Gulf, Mercedes SLR, a very special white coloured AstinMartin Vanquish, Koenigsegg CCX, Ascari K1, Spyker C8 Spyder and a lot more. Made a lot of pics, if you're interested, I'll mail you to post it. cabrio92 06-19-2006, 03:22 PM Hello Arjan, good to see someone was in the event and tried to know more :) The F1 was not a rumor, it was announced ! And I see some Gulf Cars but no true Gulf parade ! Very strange nobody knows ! Also spotted 2xF40, F50, 10+ Vanquish, etc F1 monster 06-20-2006, 07:18 PM Just got back...I was there and asked the right people...no McLaren F1s, so far as anyone knew. I also looked around in a few of the parking areas and all of the display areas, pit lane, team hospitality, etc. No F1, I am afraid. cabrio92 06-21-2006, 03:50 AM Hello, here you can read we I was not wrong ; but why nobody knows about it ! So f1 Monster, what others cars have you seen ? http://www.grande-parade-des-pilotes.com/images/pgm_06.jpg F1 monster 06-21-2006, 06:25 AM I saw a TON of cars. I drove there from England in a Porsche Turbo chipped to 550 bhp, and it was a complete hoot. Tons and tons of interesting cars on the road, from Bentleys to F50s to Caterhams to vintage machines to Enzos to Ferraris. There was a Carrera GT, two Ferrari 360s and a 550 in our group, along with an M3 CSL, Alpina Z4, and a bunch of other cool cars. It was a nice caravan. At Le Mans, I saw the GT40, the Carver (it leans into corners), Farboud GT, Mosler, XJ220, etc., etc. The day before the race, we all hung out at Arnage and saw tons of TVRs, Porsches, Astons, Lambos, Carrera GTs, etc., etc. Far too much to remember, I will have to go through my pictures. I had pit lane access so I saw all the race cars up close as well--even got to sit in a few. On the way back, I was in Porsche GT3 and it was PHENOMENAL. We saw tons of cool cars on the roads again as well, including an Invicta, a Brook, Bugattis, TVRs, and the Ultima GTR which recently set the world record. None of the cars compare, however, to the Hawaiian Tropic girls. I have some pictures which I will put up. mini magic 06-21-2006, 08:24 AM Which GT3? MK1, 2 or 3? Glad you had fun F1 monster 06-21-2006, 11:12 AM Mk2, I am pretty sure. We diced with a Mk1 GT3 for a while too. cabrio92 06-21-2006, 06:20 PM Hello, My question was to know which cars I missed. We didn't know where were 959, XJ220, Carrera GT, (have you seen a grey F50 ?). You say "Bugattis", which ones ? Hmmm, If I could enter the paddock, I would try to speak to Juan Barazi, did you speaj with him ? Phil F1 monster 06-21-2006, 08:07 PM I didn't know that Juan Barazi was there, or I would have talked to him, although I don't have anywhere near as many McLaren facts at my fingertips as Peloton. I saw a red F50, not a grey one. As for which cars you missed, I am not sure what you mean. I listed the cars I saw, that I remember. Bugattis - the new Veyron (silver and blue, maroon and black, all grey), and old ones --I think they were type 43 or something. Not exactly sure, to be honest. I did not see any 959s. The Carrera GT belonged to Arash Farboud, who drove down with us. He also had his original prototype on display--it looks like the Porsche GT1 and is all white, you might have seen it displayed next to the Mosler. I saw the XJ220 at Arnage on the day when everyone was doing their "parade" there, and I say it later in the village of Arnage and again on the way back to England on the highway and at the Calais tunnel terminal. It was a dark maroon. Where would I have found Juan Barazi? To be honest, I follow very little of the racing--I just went to be with my friends. For me, it was a 5-day party--we had to get there early to secure a large enough campsite for our 10 cars plus support van (my friends like to do it in style). We camped at Tetre Rouge, which wasn't bad, but next I will only go for 2-3 days. I was a little ticked off at missing some of the world cup games but I am catching up now that I am home--I have them all tivo'ed. The campers were mostly Brits so they had a satellite TV set up for the England match, so at least I caught that game live. Thank god England won! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
