Just sayin the alternator is bad doesnt tell us a thing, you need to describe what your car is or isnt doing Chuki_breath 05-14-2006, 05:33 PM yea the older 240's seem to have problems just because of old age. Iv replaced alternator and starter on mine already. You may just want to replace that kind of stuff in general anyways. Unless you have plans for a engine swap or something. Iv had all my fuel injectors go bad too. Welcome to the forum. sidewayzS13 05-14-2006, 08:33 PM yep when i was stock i had a starter go out. it happens its a older car. as said before though you have to explain more to us for us to help that post was vauge at best. welcome though, just be more descriptive lucky13garage 05-14-2006, 10:43 PM My fault, well... I have absolutly no power, but... everything in the car itself works like the dome light, head light(one is out and i have no clue how to fix it) and turn signals(one is out there too) pretty much tho im getting power to everything but the engine, then when i try and start it there is nothing... Its a little weird, becasue i would think that i wouldnt be getting power to anything if it was the altrenator... :banghead: :banghead: ... And just wondering... Were is the fuse box inside... I would figure it would be to the right of the drivers side like right by the gas pedal... but its not there... and i need to replace the head light fuse and the radio fuse... My head light is out and ive done everything ecept check the fuse because i cant find it... also my head unit wont work and im almost 100% sure its the fuse because all the conections look fine im just getting no power to the aftermarket one... I have the old altrenator ripped out and the new one right here... tommarow as soon as i get up i am going to install the new one and replace everything... I cant wait to drive the 240 again... It was a really fun car to drive for the first day... lol... THANKS Hit_N_Run-player 05-14-2006, 11:03 PM the fuse box inside is in the lower left kick panel, drivers side. lucky13garage 05-15-2006, 04:27 PM well, found the fuse box... thanks hit n run... lmao, i felt like a retard when i seen it... anyways the radio fuse is fine.. i think its something to do with the wires... but the headlight is still non-working and im not sure why :banghead: ... I guess i have to check the harness. BTW im thinking of buying the B&M short throw after i get the headlight and blinker worked out... Would anyone recomend anything else... So far ive heard nothing but good comments about B&M Chuki_breath 05-15-2006, 08:10 PM Those are good shifters from what i hear. Everyone seems to like them that has them. But i would make sure everything else is ok before you start moding. sidewayzS13 05-16-2006, 09:04 AM b&m is sexy i love mine w/ all of my hearttoo bad i cant drive my 240 anymore lucky13garage 05-16-2006, 07:34 PM Hey guys... Im diffenatly thinking of the B&M but im also thinking of getting the whole shift kit with the plate and blah blah blah... its only $100 and the B&M will probably run me around $50 or $100 im thinking... The headlight and bliker are fixed and she runs sweet... Too bad i got smoked by a saleen today... lmfao! those are pretty fast... i need a turbo in the next few months for sure! Chuki_breath 05-16-2006, 08:27 PM uhhhhhh you tried to race a saleen in a stock 240??? Dont try to race anything in a stock 240 except mopeds. You will get landed on by almost everything. Which makes it not worth racing at all lol. Why risk the ticket or messing up teh car even more for a battle of the 15 second cars. Hit_N_Run-player 05-16-2006, 10:28 PM i race in my 240, but i keep it too the hondas/rice and such mostly at school. I would definately recommend the B&M shortthrow, i even wanted it shorter (the stock knob sits high on the post) so i took i think it was a sentra or stanza knob (very comfortable) and drilled it out all the way just a few mm before the top, and then tapped it. I had to cut the bottom off a little, but i was able to move the shifter about 1-1.5 inches lower on the shift post. very quick and easy shifting. lucky13garage 05-17-2006, 12:08 AM Haha, yeah i deffinatly got smoked but that car isnt too too bad stock... My first 5-speed, well besides the beater i bought just to practice but she runs smooth as can be except there is some jump when i take a turn around 30-35 mph... Im not sure if thats normal or not... I used to own an 88 monte carlo, nice car so im used to the RWD, and thanks about the shift knob ideal... I never thought about that.. i think im just gunna pick up a rozo knob whenever i get the razo pedals and sell the ractive's to some kid in a honda... lol!, everything is perfect in her now and runs alright except now i have to fix the radio, but i do have a question... Does anyone know if an aftermarket radio needs a ground wire, because everthing seems to be hooked up fine but there is still no life in the damned thing... Thats the only thing that is wrong with her now, then i can start the fun... :grinyes: nissan_240sx 05-17-2006, 02:54 PM yes the aftermarket player should have a ground lucky13garage 05-17-2006, 08:32 PM Would the ground wire up to the siring harness or something diffrent?? like a loose wire or something... ?????
