Can I add a keyless remote to truck?natmyers 05-13-2006, 01:35 AM We have a 2000 F150 with power door locks but no keyless remote. Can I just buy one and have it programmed, or does the truck have to have something for it to work. We bought it new so I'm assuming it's not "equiped". Is there an easy way to "equip" it? My husband drives this truck. Thanks. Believer45 05-17-2006, 10:40 PM I am not sure if trucks not ordered with keyless entry have the module (reciever) in place, I rather doubt it. You can, however, add keyless remote very easily if you already have power locks. Buy a kit for $25-30 and hook it into the wiring coming off the door switch that unlocks the power locks from inside. You will not have the ability to unlock just the driver's door and it will not do the "chirp" thing (at least the one I installed in my daughter's car did not) bit it will unlock all the doors with one button press. Some can be had that will, with proper installtion, do the "chirp" thing and blink the lights, it was not important to me when I did the job.
