How Much Is It Worth?jason322 05-12-2006, 03:43 PM I have a 1997 Chevy Cavlier Manual with 121k miles. I'm selling it because there is a problem with the transmission. I think its just leaking fluid but it may need a new transmission. It also slowly leaks clutch fluid, needs 2 front tires, and needs new front brakes. The interior and exterior paint are in good condition with some stains/scratchs but nothing to major. How much do you think I can get for it? Thanks, Jason Lances133 05-12-2006, 04:26 PM Does it have, a/c? power windows, locks, etc.? moonroof? 2.2 or 2.4 engine? coupe? sedan? jason322 05-12-2006, 04:37 PM Sorry It has A/C but its leaking freon(Goes hot in a week) No power windows/locks. No sunroof. 2.2L Coupe. Has the stock 15's and all 4 hub caps :D CavLCD128 05-12-2006, 04:55 PM damn with that list of problems and the miles on it, i wouldnt value it over 800 bucks...especially because it might need a new tranny (if it dosnt need a new 1 it should soon) jason322 05-12-2006, 04:57 PM damn with that list of problems and the miles on it, i wouldnt value it over 800 bucks...especially because it might need a new tranny (if it dosnt need a new 1 it should soon) Yeah I know its not going to be much. Definatly under $800 but anyone have a more accurate estimate? Cavalier2000 05-12-2006, 05:45 PM Best advice, put the $50 and get new brakes and get some cheap tires. That will make the price go up a good bit. People freak out with brake problems even though they are an easy fix. Lances133 05-12-2006, 05:54 PM If it's not that easy to notice the transmission problems while driving it, then don't tell the potential buyers, obviously lol Cavalier2000 05-12-2006, 05:59 PM Lol remeber what goes around comes around. jason322 05-12-2006, 06:07 PM If it's not that easy to notice the transmission problems while driving it, then don't tell the potential buyers, obviously lol Definatly noticeable. It won't shift into first. I'm trying to get a price because I don't want to deal with it and I'm selling it to a friend but don't know how much. MrR0b0t0 05-12-2006, 09:50 PM ...wont shift into first? That's gotta suck, i'll give you $50 for it. =D Cavalier2000 05-12-2006, 09:57 PM Shit if it's a good friend then sell it cheap and get under there and help him replace that tranny. at least thats what me and my friends do.... MrR0b0t0 05-12-2006, 11:13 PM I'll repair it... but yeah, you can sell it for much more if you just spend the money on the brakes and tranny. CavLCD128 05-14-2006, 12:08 AM you could always get a rebuilt tranny from a junk yard...? thats an option vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
