Vehicle speed sensor?

Yesterday I noticed my speedometer would not return to zero right away after the vehicle had been stopped..for example, I had exited the expressway and came to a red light, and after I had stopped, the needle was barely reaching 25...20....15 and it took a good 10 seconds before it reached zero. It accurately moves up during accelaration! Does this sound like a faulty speed sensor about to call it quits?:screwy: Thanks a lot for the help

The speed sensor has to be turning to have any output. Next time you notice the speedometer sticking, give a brisk thump with your hand, on the dash above the speedometer, to see if it will fall back to zero.

Mine did something like that but never went back to -0-, would stop at 25mph or so. Replaced speed sensor and nothing different. I replace the dash and is fine now.

Vehicle speed sensor has nothing to do with the speedometer.
The Spedometer is driven by a cable..

The speed sensor is feeding the computer only.

The spedometer METER is sticking somehow.

GOOD LUCK ..

Actually the speedometer needle isn't controlled by a cable, it's all electrical.
