1986 Cr125rOrangeamc13 05-08-2006, 09:39 PM I just picked up an 86 cr125. Just wondering what weight oil and how much do I use in the engine. Been running 32/1 for fuel is that ok? Does anyone have any tricks for tweaking this bitch?:evillol: RoostRider 05-11-2006, 02:49 AM You can use standard 5W-30 motor oil in the crankcase. 1 quart. But you may want to play around with different oils to see what works best in your tranny (other wieghts of auto oil, auto tranny fluid, straight weight oils (84 or so), and even specific 2t tranny oils like Honda produces) Keep your mixture at 32:1 for fuel : oil. As for tweaks- you should visit www.pingertalk.com BNaylor 05-11-2006, 08:42 AM I use Honda HP Trans Oil. It is 80/85 weight. Expensive but worth it. The problem with running regular engine oil is possible clutch slipping depending on the condition or age of the clutch plates. Orangeamc13 05-12-2006, 12:06 PM Thanks! AmysTrooper 05-14-2006, 02:58 AM Running correct tranny oil is key!!! Your biuke has a wet clutch system that is lubricated by the tranny oil so you need oil with modifiers to aid in that department. If you dont you will eventually have clutch failure. stick with the correct honda or equal tranny oil.. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
