Anyone know if the 6 speed tranny out of an S15 will bolt right up to an S14 chassis & SR motor? tranny mounts? are they the same?

i dont think it will bolt up, but im not sure. i would rather have the 5 speed though, apparently its much stronger.

Yeah, was just a thought...Always looking for new ideas to bang around lol. a 6spd would be fun to have though. I cant see how it would be weak though, since its in the S15. Meh.

its weak because all 6 gears have to be thinner, so that they can fit in the same box as the 5 speed(?) and obviously thinner means weaker. from what i have gathered, 300 whp is about as far as you could safely go. also i have read that the 6 speed makes ALOT more noise, though that most likely doesnt matter to you.

hey, if you have an sr20, have a look at my thread in the off topic area : )

if this swap works and you decide to do it, i may be interested in your current 5 speed if you choose to sell it

swap the bellhousing to your S14 housing, and It should bolt up.

you have to buy a bellhousing adapter for the sr from i think maz works or something like that
i dont know if its made for a ka
anyways it can easily handle like 600 hp its a fucking beast it will not fail all the high power sr guys are starting to switch to it

Theres 2 guys locally who have done both Z32 Auto and 5-Spd swaps on their KA-Ts. They just used 1/2" bar plate steel and drilled new patterns for the Z32 tranny. Cut out a hole in the Z32 tranny for the KA starter.

Does anybody know what is needed for the Z32 for the KA? SR20?

1. Is the output shaft from the trans (splines) the same?
2. Clutch assembly, KA or Z32?
3. Gearing?
4. Driveshaft needed to be changed, shorted, etc?
5. Speedo bolts right up?
6. Mounting brackets or trans mounts?
7. What year R32 trans?
8. Turbo or N/A?
9. Slave connection, hoses, etc?
10. What kind of adapter plate, spacer is needed?

Any info on a sequential shift pkg for the R32 trans?

I have a racing gear company that can produce the adapter plate, shafts, etc. If this works, I can manufacture the needed parts and sell it in a kit form.

well im going to clear some things up...

#1 yes the S15 tranny will bolt up to any year SR, you will need to also get the s15 driveshaft and rear end to make it fully work.

#2 to make the Z32 tranny work on a KA/SR you need an adapter plate, driveshaft, and fittings to make it adaptable to your stock boosters...all in all go to mazworks, who already has a z32 swap kit made for the SR, and i believe there working on the adapter plate for the ka...for all i know they might be out already...
