Which grade of motor oil is best for a 94 acclaim? I'm just a mom with no knowledge of 5w -30 vs 10w-40 and so on !!! Can you suggest best grade to use?

You most likely have the 2.2L I4. You might have the V6 as well. Either way I would suggest 10W-30, that is what I use in my 2.2L, and that is what we use in all our other Chrysler vehicles.

Hope that helps.

If you have the OHC engine the 3.0 V6 I would use Synthetic oil, and use the wieght that is recomended by the manufaturer. I think it is 5w30. The synthetic coats the Cams and reduces friction alot.

SAE 5W-30 oil, grade SG/SH is recommended for all these engines.

Use synthetic if you really care about long life of your engine, otherwise just make sure you keep the level topped up correctly, but don't ever overfill, and change oil and filter at the manufacturer's recommended intervals and you should have the minimum amount of problems.

I use amsoil fully synthetic 5w-30, the 24k miles mixture, I change it every 20k miles or so, sometimes a little more. If you use that then you will need to change your filter every 3k miles though
