There are more details and pictures there than someone can give you in a half a dozen lines on the net. FWIW YMMV jamesmetairie 05-16-2006, 07:06 PM i have an old car that cost me $1200. THE BLACK PAINT and clear TOP COAT ,ETC IS PEELING,BLISTERING.IT,S MOSTLY ABOVE THE PIN STRIPE. what,s the best method to prepare it for paint. can i use a little orbit sander?should i use wet type sand paper and run some masking tape along the pin stripe? i ain,t decided yet if i will spray the primer from cheap cans and then top coat with a brush. i had a cheapy car 40 years ago painted with a brush and it was not too bad. no, it would not win at the custom car show.but it was a clean go to work car(fishing car).anyone have any luck spraying top coat with cans??? no, i ain,t embarassed. i,m in katrinaland . i painted it with cans(quick drying car paint) from walmart. i taped above the pin stripe. sanded between 2 black primer coats. then top coated 1 black coat. i did not give it any clear coat. it ain,t too bad. also i painted both bumpers.Save your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
