McLaren F1 : R66MCLevandaalen 04-24-2006, 03:27 PM Hi guys! I just had to register to this forum to share something with you! :grinyes: :grinyes: A long time ago, two pictures made by my brother were discussed here on this forum. See the old "Another pair of McLarens" thread. For the pictures, see my own gallery: http://community.webshots.com/photo/65750874/1065753167032678210qqNtkm http://community.webshots.com/photo/65750874/1065753250032678210RYGEjU It's about two McLaren F1s, an orange car with plates M66MCL and a grey car with plates R66MCL. So, why waking up some sleeping dogs??? Well, just see what I saw in London last saturday, close to Buckingham Palace!!! I am not allowed to post attachments here (why not???), so I'm using my own website: http://www.red-headed.com/McLarenF1_R66MCL_1.jpg http://www.red-headed.com/McLarenF1_R66MCL_2.jpg http://www.red-headed.com/McLarenF1_R66MCL_3.jpg (photos will probaby be removed in the future ...) Remarks???? :sunglasse :grinyes:  payso 04-24-2006, 03:40 PM top man :) thanks for the pics!!! hurstg01 04-24-2006, 03:44 PM top man :) thanks for the pics!!! i would like to echo this post -TOP MAN!!!!      Jimmyc 04-24-2006, 04:31 PM I think we have the chassis number confirmed as 059 don't we. There were only two silver 1998 F1's and 069 went to the US. evandaalen 04-24-2006, 04:38 PM I think we have the chassis number confirmed as 059 don't we. There were only two silver 1998 F1's and 069 went to the US.I don't know so much about McLaren, so please forgive my question: how can you see it's a 1998 car? But yes, I also heard it was 059. Any idea about the owner? Grtx, Edvar www.red-headed.com (http://www.red-headed.com) (sorry, just Ferrari content :iceslolan ) Jimmyc 04-24-2006, 04:48 PM I checked the registration number on the UK vehicle database some time ago, it shows the car was manufactured and first registered in 1998 and the original colour was silver - only two cars fit the description. In the UK, cars beginning with an R were first registered between august 1997 and july 1998....although....it is possible that a car manufactured in an earlier year but not registered could also wear an R plate. On a related note, whilst researching this I found that the silver F1 with the UK registration F1MCL was actually BUILT and registered in 1999. The QV500 list shows no road cars built in 1999 evandaalen 04-24-2006, 04:53 PM Thanks for the reply! Although chances are VERY low, I will do my best if it will show up this year in Monaco again. Just like four years ago, I will be in Monaco for the Historic GP and the F1, so I'll keep my eyes open ... :grinno: ArchangelGTR 04-25-2006, 12:46 AM Thank you for sharing those! jkbon 04-25-2006, 02:42 AM Remarks???? :sunglasse :grinyes:  Yes ! very nice pics, thanks 360boy 04-26-2006, 10:39 AM R66 MCL was at Buckingham palace to celebrate the 80th birthday of the Queen. Apparently, there was one iconic British car from each of the past 80 years that HRH has been alive. Very nice F1. Looks virtually identical to Paul Stewart's F1. Does anyone have a list of all UK registered F1s with owners, photos etc, as I am lead to believe that there are very few. I have only ever seen 3 on the roads over here.:) There are some photos of a few on my website www.carnumbers.piczo.com (http://www.carnumbers.piczo.com) if anyone wants to see them. Many thanks. Thanks for the info - hopefully that will mean more photos may appear of this car. Does anyone have a list of all UK registered F1s with owners, photos etc, as I am lead to believe that there are very few. Many thanks. Pete Not sure how much you care about accuracy, but there are several 'mistakes' in F1 photos on your site. On page 10 with caption "ND 4444 is an F1 road car" - the car pictured is XP5, the 5th experimental prototype and actually wore plate "K8 MCL" through its life. That image you have actually came from the Need For Speed video game series and they had used a phony plate on all the cars which read "ND 4 SPD". Here's the original image, pre-photoshop showing their phony plate, and another image of XP5 showing it's real UK Reg plate. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/1668433c.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/th_8Mclaren_F1.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/8Mclaren_F1.jpg) <-- Click Me At the bottom of page 10 with caption "Another superb McLaren F1 road car. This one is registered 3 MAC" should actually be showing "13 MAC" on the plate. There is also a photo of this F1 earlier in its life on page 13 with caption "Superb McLaren F1 road car with appropriate registration mark 1 MAC" that again should be "13 MAC". You have more photos of this car on the last page that show it wearing its unedited plate. It is chassis #020, owned by Tony Smith. It started life as a standard road car painted a unique shade of dark blue and was later refitted with the High Downforce Kit and repainted black with the red stripe you see. Finally on the last page you show an orange F1 wearing plate "AAX 7J" which is another photoshop. Here's the original photo showing that it actually wears a Swedish registration plate. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/th_singles007.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/singles007.jpg) <-- Click Me Here's some others you can add to your collection if you like (clickable): Chassis #040: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/th_55.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/55.jpg) Chassis #049 (assumed) and a more recent photo showing the same car with a new plate: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/th_fb2b5fe1.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/fb2b5fe1.jpg) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/th_45620485img2209sml2qt.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/45620485img2209sml2qt.jpg) Chassis #061 owned by Rowan Atkinson aka: Mr Bean: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/th_special_april.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20B/special_april.jpg) >8^) ER 360boy 04-27-2006, 03:02 AM Well I am impressed. You guys certainly know your McLarens. I did have my doubts about the authenticity of ND 4444 & AAX 7J. Now, you have answered my question. I will be adding your pic of MAC 1P to my site, if that is OK. If anyone else has some good images of F1s with cherished numbers, please get in touch. Many thanks Pete www.carnumbers.piczo.com Jota 5084 05-02-2006, 04:59 AM [QUOTE=Peloton25] Finally on the last page you show an orange F1 wearing plate "AAX 7J" which is another photoshop.
