What I am proposing is converting the ka24 to a rb26dett (r-33) w/5spd and making it awd. I am also converting to Silvia 14.5 at the same time. I have everything together for the engine swap. Can anyone help me out with what is needed for the awd conversion piece with this motor???? Am I looking for the axels from a r33 skyline?...Infinity? Feedback? Is this a good/bad idea for the awd conversion. I understand it may make it harder to drift???... Thanks, 240orso sidewayzS13 04-24-2006, 11:33 AM oh man this is somewhat covered in the thread directly underneath or above this on right now. and it has been talked about w/in the past month. the awd conversion is not only a bad idea it is not easily done and basically wont be drivable. as for the rb26 another bad idea in my opinion. read the other thread about my feelings towards the rb26 sidewayzS13 04-24-2006, 11:35 AM just so there is no confusion here http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=556399 bkvj 05-03-2006, 12:31 PM lol another one....(excuses but i dont post on this part of the forum much...) why cant people learn to use the search function, and btw, if you want a 4wd 240 then you will probally need skyline running gear to make it easy.. bkvj 05-03-2006, 12:39 PM lol another one....(excuses but i dont post on this part of the forum much...) why cant people learn to use the search function, and btw, if you want a 4wd 240 then you will probally need skyline running gear to make it easy.. michang174 05-07-2006, 07:57 PM 240orso i'm going to assume you already did the swap, i was looking at doing the same swap with the rb26dett and i just had a quick question, did you run into any problems with the twin turbos being in the way of the left hand side steering column? 89'SIL-40 05-10-2006, 04:10 PM My friend did an RB26DETT in his s-14 (just RWD) and he said with the money he put into it, he was better off just buying a skyline GT-R. BUT, he does have it rwd w/650rwhp!and over $20000 in the swap alone!......If ur really set on an RB, you should consider using a RB25 rwd tranny to make your life easier. You'll be able to drift for sure, and it will be an easier swap all around. But it is your car, just thought i'd give my input....DON'T FORGET....YOU'LL NEED to notch the downpipe to clear the steering column, change the cross member(to skyline), have a custom made driveshaft(300zx works on the tranny side,240 at the diff), custom dash wiring(and other wiring) let me know if you want to know more.
