Trans Helpdp62273 04-24-2006, 10:23 AM OK my brotherinlaws parents trans went out on there neon. i was just wondering how hard this is to replace. or could it just be the drain plug or a line that came off. any help would be nice. i have replaced a trans before just not a tranaxle. thanks for any help. das2123 04-24-2006, 11:46 AM What year is the car and is it auto or manual? You need to provide a bit more info, like how was the tranny performing before it went out, is it just slipping or something like that. 99 Neon R/T 04-24-2006, 07:00 PM Yeah especially when Neons have that nasty habitt of running the diff pin through the bell housing. The biggest pain in the ass to replacing one is getting everything else out of the way to get to the trans axel. After that its a breeze. das2123 04-25-2006, 08:51 AM Yeah especially when Neons have that nasty habitt of running the diff pin through the bell housing. That is if it's a manual and that's why you get the diff pin welded on. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
