Hartge put the V8 into a 3 series body, not a M3 body. i love that hood!!! the may 2001 issue of car and driver has the H50, but it's only 2 pages long and it doesn't have that sweet hood. i really love the looks. the exhaust configuration is sweet. little more info.... Just a revamped E46. Man, what a revamp at that!!! SDiablo512 08-22-2001, 01:17 AM Even though the hertage H50 has the M5 engine is it faster then the M5 it self? DVSNCYNIKL 08-22-2001, 07:27 AM Well, the engine is an M5, so in that point, they should be the same. But taking into consideration that the 3 series is lighter than the M5, I would believe that this car would win. Different settings and stuff, you know. Porsche 08-22-2001, 10:00 AM I'm surpised that they didn't go all out and supercharge that beast. I noticed the different hood also oppsed to the M/T one, is it M5 based or M3 based, or is it custom built? It's a 3 series, E46 to be exact, with a V8 in it. luckybmw 09-03-2001, 02:35 PM  Why did they even bother with all of that trouble? The new M3 is only .1 of a second slower 0-60 and .3 of a second slower in the 1/4 mile. Don't get me wrong, that car is one bad mo'fo', but for double the price of a new M3, it should be putting up better figures than that. S Brake 09-03-2001, 03:10 PM Originally posted by DVSNCYNIKL Exactly! It's not an M3. Just a revamped E46. Man, what a revamp at that!!! I know, i feel sort of sheepish now, i figured it out after i posted that, i think i would rather have an M5 though. just for the sleeper effect and the added room, but i think i would take off the speed limiter and mod it so it would beat the H50. F20C 09-03-2001, 05:50 PM It's not .1 second faster than M3. The official time from BMW for M3 was 5.1 seconds like M5 I believe. But everyone knew it was capable of 4.7 seconds without trouble. Now this 4.5 second is the official time for M5 engine powered E46. It can probaly do a little better than 4.5 seconds given time to practice. Anyway I think it is a bad idea because it mess up the weight balanced. e30325is4ever 09-08-2001, 03:01 AM just to let you know the h50 has 460 hp with the hartge engine mods jaqes 03-17-2009, 10:55 PM Thanks for this gr8 information about Hartge H50 E46 V8 Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2013
