It's one of the tests, the cones are layed out in the perfect line... and if you can stay on the cones and keep under an alotted time... you get the gold.

Yup, he got the gold! Oh my fast! that kid is good!
Hes probably one of those genetically engineered Gundam pilots that the Japanese have been working on for some time. They show us the vid of him taking the gold in GT4 but what they dont want us to see is the vid of the kid in a Strike Freedom simulator wiping out a naval fleet. :banghead:

^^^lol i didnt play videogames that much when i was a kid, i take that back, i did, but i diddnt have realistic simulators to drive cars with. i was stuck with mortal kombat, ninja gadien, mario, and such. no racing till drivin from sega if that was considered racing....then came good ol sega gt, man i own in that game....

i think i remember it as one of the coffe brakes for either Internation A or Supercar License. Either way that is crazy insane, i drive better with the analog sticks on the controller, i SUCK with the simulator i have, waste of 50 bucks :banghead:

I should let that kid loose on Mazda's raceway with my Viper i cant drive because i either have no traction or always break too late...can you say 982hp naturally asperated with al lthe way throuhg stage 3 weight reduction? i can, waste of 300,000 credits.

Hey, I learned how to drive at seven. :icon16:

Blocks on the pedal, in a '74 VW bug with the "Batman" grip shifter (I called it that, 'cause it looked like a Batman symbol).

My 6-yr old already knows how to drive using my Logitech GT4 steering wheel, but not as good as that kid though. Maybe I need to spend more time training him, lol.

TheStang00
04-23-2006, 08:27 PM
thats readiculous, its hard to get gold in those tests. idk tho i dont have a steering wheel for it. i actually prefer to use the D-pad. im old school with it.

this gives me an idea, we all need to get online connections for our ps2's and have an online GT4 tourney.

I don't think the US version had that test, only the UK and Asia versions.

And the only simulator I'd buy is the Logitech Driving Force PRO, its like 150 bux but all the other ones are crap, i only use that wheel.

Chiquae07
04-23-2006, 11:53 PM
^^^i agree on the logitech wheel is the only one to really have a 'simulation' one. unless you wanna fork out a lot and have be a real car simulation with gears and clutch feel. now that is something i would buy. go from 1 to 3 skipping second pushin in the clutch, moving to 3 and game switches to 3rd, skippin second.

i would miss out on the gt4 tourny, maybe if gt4 comes to psp quick enough....

That's what I got when I got a Best Buy gift card as a bonus from work. My friend has a 50-dollar MadCatz one, and it is night and day, especially when the Logitech straightens out automatically, like a real car does in a straight line, and reacts to road ruts, like in the rally races.

I'm not exactly sure if the UK version had it or not, I just know different parts of the world had little differences in the games.

holy hell, yeah, im not spending that much to play GT4...

update on my Viper...i ran a 10.7 with sport tires, 8.81@~170mph with super soft racing tires and i was screaming for traction up through 4th gear. If it could get the traction i htink it is capeable of low 8's but the game offers no other tires.

It ran its best 1/4 mile time with the stock tranny configureation, however for racing and top speed i find that extremely tall gears work best since its all NA power the powerband is very flat soi use the entier power band and have less shifting to do. with the tall gears i only loose .3 sec in the 1/4 mile. I toped out at 279.8mph...i think that if i had more room i could put it over 300mph with a taller rear end. Right now im at the tallest gear setting and a 3.00 rear end and im still accelerating when i hit the finish line.

well that is my GT4 waste of credits, what's yours?

40,000 credit Stage 3 Turbo on the Suzuki Cappuciano along with the other usual mods. I have no idea what I was doing fixing that car up, maybe I was drunk or something. It's only making like 110 HP.

CBFryman

yeha my first Mini car was teh suck.... even after dumping like 100,000 credits into it. Credits come easy for me though. When i get bored i do the rally races and sell the cars i win.... i can make a million credits in less than 1/2 an hour so...yeah...

TheStang00

i dumped a butt load of money into a Honda Today just for the sake of doing it. it was slower than balls... after i put all that money in it. so you can imagine what it was like before.

When i first started the game i saved my pennies, bought an S2000 used and made it all "fast"

Now i cant stand to drive it that i have a 450hp WRX, 500hp Evo III, 550hp c5 z06, 980hp Viper, 415hp 2nd Gen RX7, and 420Hp NSX. All with fully customizale suspension and transmissions which i have taken my off time to set up to my likings all with stickey rubber too.

He who actually has that garradge is either 1, a car loving coke runner who plays too much GT4...2, God

Screw GT4, I'se gots me Forza. And my Turboed Enzo Ferrari is cutting sixes...My Turboed LS6 SS is in the sevens, I have an RB26DETT'd 240 that doesn't get traction till late fourth and will brake traction in 1-3 from a roll with the super stickey rubber, and those are just my fun fool around cars...maybe I'll go into detail about my actual track used cars later.

Call me stupid, but I like to take the stock cars, or lightly modified, onto the Nuremburgring and just do laps with a good CD on the stereo. Its almost as fun as actually driving!! The S2000 was fun , as was the BMW M3 CSL.

Some of those very unrealistic games are fun but the ones like Burnout, Midnight Club, Tokyo Street Racing, etc can get a little irritating for me after watching me in this 2200lb car hitting semi's that then go flying about a 1/4 mile and I'm still going like 200 mph after the impact.

Mad_Maxima
04-26-2006, 08:55 PM
Yeah, thats why I like GT4. I remember playing one of those games at the arcade, me and this dude are racing, I look over to him and say, "Does it ever bother you that we're going 200 MPH and the traffic is still keeping up with us??" He ended up busting out laughing and I owned him from there on, he couldn't drive with his belly aching.

I used to like those non-realistic games because they were fun. But I traded my Tokyo Extreme game for NFS Hot Pursuit 2. Still have my Burnout 2 game haha. I hardly play it though.

My wife just got me GT4 for my b-day. Played it last night for the first time for a couple of hours. All I got is one license and a 91 Silvia K with exhaust and intercooler making 228hp. I'll never get through this game since I'm not a big video game person but I'm sure it'll be fun when I do play. BTW, is there a way to get out of the in-car view besides "director's mode"? I kind of prefer seeing the car while I drive it, but I'm getting used to this "simulator mode"...

CBFryman
04-27-2006, 03:13 PM
i like driving outside the car for one lap and then switching to incar to see if i can match the times. One thing that people never take into account in real world driving vs video games is the fact that most people drive from the outside, yeah its alot easier to follow the apex perfectly when you are watching from the outside in video games.

oh shit factor is still the biggest difference though.

I suck driving from the outside, my best times are always in the in-car view. I either brake to late or can't really "feel" the speed and just totally mess up. I guess thats good though since thats how real life is, in-car.

-The Stig-
04-27-2006, 09:46 PM
The original Need For Speed on PS1 was the best... they gave you a nice in-car view from behind the wheel with working gauges. Was awesome...

I need to hunt down my copy and toss it in the PS2.

For street racing, despite rice factor, I prefer NFSU2. However, for track, I'm really digging Forza, although I might pick up a 360 for PGR 3...inside view with working gauges like NFS...yummy.

we've got a 360.. no problems here

the ps2 if you remember had simular problems when it was released

but anyway, that kid is good, i have a saying on games like nfs, (remember how you start out the game in a kick ass car and it always gets taken away) *when the car gets taken away and they put you in a sh*tty one to "tune".
If i wanted to drive a high 15, low 16 second car, i'd walk outside and start mine up. this is bs. make it unrealistic... keep it fun like that
