I run my 32x11.50-15 BFG ATs at about 30 psi, and I get excellent wear (65K from my first set) but the best way to determine the ideal pressure is the "chalk test" as so: Air the tire to a high starting pressure (maybe 35-40 psi), drive a while to get them to normal running temp, then find a nice straight stretch of pavement (a large parking lot). Stop at one end and rub chalk all across a section of the tire tread on the front and rear tires. Drive a couple hundred yards and stop. The chalk should have worn off more in the center of the tread. Drop the pressure a couple of psi, re-chalk, and repeat. Once the chalk is wearing evenly, note the pressures for the front and rear. This will be a "warm" pressure. Go home, let the tires cool, and note the pressures again. This will be the "cold" pressure to use, although I would bump it up a couple of psi to take into account cornering loads on the outer edges. Brent mabrown3 04-22-2006, 04:17 PM BRILLIANT! I check it about once a month, and after every offroad trip. you never know, until it is too late, that you shoved a stick into the side wall of the spare. yes, unfortunately, mine is still on the bottom. a rear rack will come after the differential lockers. thanks again Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
