I'm really really curious about episode 14. I'm trying to figure out what legend archer is. I thought Muramasa when he was talking about making weapons but he can't be japanese because he's speaking English haha. Those who saw the episode, what do you make of it?

If you haven't seen Fate Stay Night, I reccommend it to every anime fan, it's shounen-style

It's at URL REMOVED - LICENSED SERIES

No my point is that there's not enough car guys who are anime fans, ya know? I mean look at the forum page.

I'll try to keep this on topic. I'm up to episode 15 and Fate Stay Night's just getting better and better.

never even heard of it to be honest with you, what's it about?

There's a secret war going on, with sorcerers fighting eachother for the ultimate prize, anything you wish for. The magic 'masters' summon of a hero from ancient legends to fight for them. It was a japanese ps2 game I believe. If I give anything else away... you get the point

Geneon has licensed Fate Stay Night for domestic release. I have removed the fansub link. Please cease downloading Fate Stay Night and wait for the legitimate R1 DVD's to hit store shelves.

Quicksilver, obviously you can't read AF's policy. Goodbye.

For the uninformed, after I removed the link he reposted it. I gave leeway on the link in the first place because at the time Fate Stay Night was not licensed. It is now. Fansubs of FSN now equal Bootlegs of FSN. Please refer to the Automotive Forums Official Fansub Policy for future reference.

Damn, they're watching our forums and whenever we talk about fansubs they always get licensed.

Don't take this as sarcasm, I just find it funny how we talked about naruto before then almost immediately it was licensed. Now Fate Stay Night, they must know we be talkin.

Well, fansubs are considered one of the ways the distributors judge sales/broadcast potential of an anime. However, between magazines like NewtypeUSA, Protoculture Addicts, and Anime Insider, and internet news sites like Anime on DVD and Anime News Network, the pre-licensing buzz around some series has been getting louder outside of the legally sticky world of fansubbing.

Also, many series these days are getting licensed (or even FINANCED) by American distributors before they air in Japan! Big O Season 2 was financed by Cartoon Network, for instance, and Ninja Scroll TV was produced by Urban Vision. This is becoming more and more the norm.

Alot of people are starting to view this more and more like the whole Napster stir-up from like 100 years ago. I fully believe that anime should be licensed, don't get me wrong. I know these people work hard and it sucks for them to see their hard work go down the drain without any profit, but at the same time alot of people have a passion for subbing but the job field for doing it through a company is so small that this is the only way they can.

End result is that alot of anime coming over is ridiculously over-priced, regardless of the distributor. Even discountanime.com has some high price tags on it for things that aren't all that popular. It's a turn down to spend alot of money on a series that you know nothing about, but are interested in, because you don't want it to be wasted.

So I'm caught between supporting and not supporting. Just the way things go I suppose.
