Changing Lock Actuator

I have been having troubles with a driver's side lock actuator on a 2001 Camry LE for some time. A family member recently totalled a 1998 Camry LE (no significant damage to driver's side door). Do you think the actuator on the 1998 will fit in my car, or is it time to suck it up and just buy an actuator from a salvage yard?
