Going WankelB00stCreep 04-18-2006, 01:52 PM I'm looking for a new used sports car and I was thinking of buying a 3rd gen RX-7. I was just wondering how different it is having a rotary engine under the hood. From research and talking to people I hear they flood easily and the lack of low end torque mean you'll be switching gears alot. But what are the day-to-day things that are different from a piston engines. Do you have to let the engines warm up for a while....and stuff like that? drftk1d 04-18-2006, 08:02 PM you let them warm up for like 2 mins then just drive around below 3k and once its warm let it rip gas mileage kinda sucks on them but it can be decent if you drive like a pussy my89rx7gtu 04-19-2006, 06:32 PM I get 260mi.-270mi. on the whole tank with 2-3gal. left when I fill it up. Is that good or bad? Kavorkian_Scarf 04-19-2006, 06:57 PM They arent too too bad on gas. For their engine size they are terrible (1.3L) but the effeciency compared to say a 4.5 L isnt bad. badassfocus1101 04-20-2006, 01:44 AM just get in the damn thing and drive it...who cares about gas mileage..... drift it and do donuts. who cares, put it to use for what its for, u want a granny car go get a damn lumina..lol drftk1d 04-20-2006, 09:30 PM ive been getting good highway mileage using cruise control at 65 mph (which is about 2500 rpms) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
