Hello, I have a 1996 Tahoe that suddenly started to have problems starting. It's like the starter tries to go, then loads, then either 'seems' to die or tick tick ticks... I have replaced the starter, put in a new optima yellow top battery, replaced the fuel filter, replaced the ground cable on the battery, cleaned all connections to ground, even cleaned all the posts on the fuses in the fuse box. I'll charge the battery, go to start it and it's like a dead battery symptom. I put a commercial garage shop charger on and it starts just fine. Charge the battery, disconnect charger and poof, same symptoms all over again? Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Check connections on the positive battery cable at both ends, may need to replace the entire cable.

Have the new battery checked...sometimes new is bad from the beginning. Also, have you looked at all of the things driven by the serpentine belt? I had a '90 Suburban that did this exact same thing everytime it got ready to spit alternator bearings all over the place.
