Unidentified McLaren!cche2052 04-17-2006, 10:41 PM Hey guys, I've been MIA from here for quite a bit but I return with exciting news. We all know that #065 is here in Singapore, and it's still safe and mileage -free. I drove by the Automobil Manufactur (the company that owns 065) the other day and noticed they had added a HDF kit to it. Partially disappointed that they didn't leave this historic car unmolested, I went to take a look and lo-and-behold, it was ANOTHER car. Buggers now have TWO Mclarens in their showroom. I wasn't able to peer at the chassis plate and my friend who works there had already left for home, but I did manage to snap a few photos to share with you guys. The paintjob is darker than the "original" silver on 065, but seems a shade lighter than the car in Melbourne. It looks fantastic and is now officially the color I would want *my* mclaren in:) *wishful thinking* I'll try and get the chassis number when I'm free once again to visit the cars. In the meantime, maybe the super-sleuths in this forum can deduce the chassis number. Honor and respect to the one who identifies it correctly!:) Without further ado: http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/3162/pict00078sm.th.jpg (http://img104.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict00078sm.jpg) http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/7580/pict00137wx.th.jpg (http://img151.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict00137wx.jpg) http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/1697/pict00203uh.th.jpg (http://img481.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict00203uh.jpg) Peloton25 04-18-2006, 12:52 AM It's chassis #018. PatrickT82 and tak43 both have photographed this car in other locations. I suspect very strongly that this car is mechanically similar to chassis #073. Great photos!! We'd love to see more. :grinyes: BTW: Can you get us photos of #065 with the HDF Kit too? I'm rather surprised to hear that... >8^) ER MalkaJB 04-18-2006, 01:06 AM BTW: Can you get us photos of #065 with the HDF Kit too? I'm rather surprised to hear that... I think what he was saying is that he originally thought that #018 was #065 refitted with the HDF kit but later realized that he made a mistake. I don't think that #065 has actually been fitted with the HDF kit...unless I misunderstood something. Peloton25 04-18-2006, 02:20 AM I think what he was saying is that he originally thought that #018 was #065 refitted with the HDF kit but later realized that he made a mistake. Hey, and when I read it again I notice the same thing. :banghead: :lol2: Thanks! >8^) ER McLaren F1 Guy 04-18-2006, 09:16 PM Looks like this isn't in Germany anymore. Shame that both F1s that were Mid(night) Blue Pearl have been repainted and had an HDF kit put on. Thanks for the pics! cche2052 04-19-2006, 07:27 AM http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/6831/pict0015a8gx.th.jpg (http://img90.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict0015a8gx.jpg) Here's a pic of 065 being charged:) I'm baffled Erik, how do you know its 018 for sure? Peloton25 04-19-2006, 08:28 AM I'm baffled Erik, how do you know its 018 for sure? Patrick took a shot of the chassis plaque for us when he saw the car. Unless there is another F1 that is visually identical to #018 in every way I can see, then this has to be that car. >8^) ER PatrickT82 04-22-2006, 05:27 PM thats the one I photographed january 2005 in Germany! McLaren F1 Guy 04-23-2006, 05:31 PM This Automobil Manufactur place is located in Japan, correct? cche2052 04-24-2006, 12:00 AM This Automobil Manufactur place is located in Japan, correct?
