a masking quesion

I've heard that one way to prevent colors from running under your masks (not the one you wear) is to spray a coat of clear on the seam before spraying the next color. The idea being that if there is a gap, the clear will fill it. Sound like a good idea, especially on curved areas. Has anyone tried this? My only concern is, that its seems like it would increase the risk of your second color pulling away with the tape.

This sounds a bit risky as you could end up with a streak of clear a lot thicker and looking like a big run if it is not correct but I'd like to know how it would end up if it was done like this.

It only takes a light mist coat to seal it! I think this is a very good tip! :icon16:

I usually shoot a nice light mist coat of clear, and havent had any problems.

Or you just shoot a mist coat of your base color over the tape to seal it.
