i was wondering if anybody knows if there is a deck height difference in a 5 liter in a 1992 f150 and a 1992 mustang with a 5 liter h.o. in it. i want to hot rod a truck and i just want to know if i have to get like special parts for a truck to put on the 302 that comes in it. my dad was tellin me something about deck height difference will make a difference in what kind of manifold i can get and heads

The 302 has the same deck height, they use the same block in the car/truck. If the truck was a 5.8 (351w) then yet it would have a higher deck height.

thanks i guess what i wanted to do will work if i get the truck i just thought it was weird that in performance catalogs they have a totally different intake for trucks and it looks goofy and thats the only one i plan on rebuilding it completely. i want to stroke it to a 347 and then build the top end. ohh and nice ride

The truck intake is designed for more torque then the 5.0 HO intake. The aftermarket intakes are much better then stock car or truck intakes though.
Thanks for the complement. Car looks completely different now though. Got the 351w in it Harwood 4" cowl hood and draglights with MT drag radials.

I'll back you up that all 289s and 302s have the same deck height. The tricky part is between the '69/70 351W and all the 351Ws after that. The early ones have a slightly shorter deck.
