99 Tahoe ShocksTheBubbles 04-14-2006, 09:37 PM I have a '99 Tahoe LS with 70,000 miles. The truck has the original shocks on it and its about time to replace them. I was wondering what i should replace them with. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance. jermiester1 04-15-2006, 11:12 PM I also have a 99 Tahoe. Mine has just over 100K miles and the shocks where long over due. It rode like a bowl of Jell-O. My wife almost rolled it one day when she had to swerve and over corrected. I just installed a set of Monroe Sensa-Trac's. I paid $180 including tax, but I get a $20 rebate. They are not high performance off road shocks, but they are far better than the OEM shocks where when they were new. It feels much more stable and solid now. sprucegoose 04-17-2006, 04:43 PM A couple years back I put an new set of Bilstein HD shocks all around on my 98 LT. I think I had about 110K on the truck at that time. I paid about $220 at Auto Zone if I remember right. I have been very happy with them, and with over 184K on it now, they are still riding great! :) horse482 04-18-2006, 01:20 PM I would stay away from the monroe shocks, no matter what grade you buy they are all junk. If you want it to handle correctly, KYB Monomax would be my first choice, or the Bilstein HD's as sprucegoose said above as a second choice. TheBubbles 07-26-2006, 06:26 PM what about the KYB GR-2? anyone have those? i've been told that the monomax will make the ride too rough on my hoe. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
