Hi,

My civic95 has been stranded for almost a month. Tried many methods:
When try to start, I can hear the cranking sound (no problem with starter?)
Jump start, the same result.
When tested for spark, it does spark. (no problem in spark wires, distributor)
checked spark plugs, looks good, with a strong gas smell (been flooded by previous trys, maybe this means the fuel system is all right?)
I can hear the pump kick in;

What would you guys suggested for the next step: maybe testing fuel pressure, will have to get a right sized gauge, though. Or is it better to pass it over to a mechanic at this point?

Thank you!

Your problem sounds fuel-related. Id say pull off the fuel line to the fuel filter and turn the key to the on position and see if your getting fuel. Also, your ful problem might be due to your main relay. hope this helps...

Thank you for your input.
I checked fuel line and it does gush out fuel when the key is on, so that part seems all right.
Tried replace spark wires and spark plugs as a friend suggested, however still no luck.
During spark plug replacement, noticed the strong gas smell and then tried the "clear flood mode" by pressing gas padel all the way down and then start the engine. After a few seconds, it started!
So far it is working fine. Don't know what caused the flooding, hopefully won't happen again.
