i happend to come accross a 89 xt6. i know that subarus are all wheel drive but mine came with a lock differential. does this mean i can go from 2 to 4 wheel drive???:screwy:

Nope.

in the XT6, the Difflock switch is just that.. It locks the center diff.

By default, the center diff is open. Its not true AWD.. it is referred to as Full Time 4WD. With the open center diff, power moves to wherever there is the least resistance. With the difflock engaged, power is split 50/50 like it would be on a 4wd truck.
